Two women ejected from boat identified
SPRINGFIELD — State Wildlife and Fisheries agents identified on Tuesday the two women injured when they and two others were ejected from a 16-foot skiff traveling in a curve on Blood River in southeastern Livingston Parish.
Agents investigating the incident have said the empty aluminum boat came back around and ran over the women Sunday night south of Blood River Landing and a half-mile north of where La. 22 crosses the confluence of the Blood and Tickfaw rivers.
Agents said Felicia Bogo, of Hammond, and Rebecca Seal, of Ponchatoula, received minor injuries, including minor lacerations to their hands and wrists, agents said. The victims’ ages were not available.
Wildlife agents also cited the man piloting the skiff, Daniel Fisher, of Baton Rouge, with reckless operation of a motor boat, having no running lights and overloading of the motor boat, a spokesman said.
The name of the fourth occupant of the boat was not disclosed by agents.
Capt. Len Yokum, enforcement division region supervisor for the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, said the boat was overloaded.
