RACELAND — A Raceland man allegedly shot a woman to death in an argument over money, the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office reported Tuesday.

Deputies arrested and booked Toby Gray, 22, 496 Triple Oaks, Monday night with the second-degree murder of Raquel Barrios, 37, Cut Off, Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre said

Gray and Barrios, who had known each other for two to three weeks, argued over money that Barrios supposedly owed Gray, according to a news release.

Barrios was found shot multiple times about 8:30 p.m. Sunday in an isolated area adjacent to the Alidore community on Kahn Street, Webre said.

Judge Hugh Larose, of 17th Judicial District Court, set Gray’s bond at $500,000.
