NATALBANY — Four people were arrested Tuesday when Tangipahoa Parish sheriff’s deputies traced illegal hydrocodone to a home where drugs were being sold in an area known for such activity, deputies said.

Galafora Road residents had complained about the drug activity to deputies, who began patrolling the area, according to a Sheriff’s Office statement Wednesday.

Deputies found the hydrocodone in the purse of Dana Howze, 41, 12317 U.S. 190 W., Hammond, after a traffic stop Tuesday on Galafora Road, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies learned Howze had just left a house at 48206 Galafora Road and searched the home, finding drug paraphernalia within the reach of a 2-year-old child and hydrocodone in the purse of Crystal Gail Lindsey, 31.

Deputies said they seized Lindsey’s cell phone and received a call from Kimberly Irene McGough, 51, 37242 Chappel Hill Road, Franklinton, about buying drugs.

When McGough showed up about 11 p.m. Tuesday, deputies searched her sport utility vehicle and seized 8 ounces of crystal methamphetamine and $1,140.

Howze was arrested and booked with criminal counts of possession of Schedule II narcotics, open container and expired plates, deputies said.

Lindsey was arrested and booked with possession of Schedule II narcotics, deputies said.

Paul Anthony Galafora, 42, who had fled the Galafora Road residence when deputies arrived but was persuaded to return, was arrested and booked with possession of Schedule II narcotics and drug paraphernalia and child desertion, deputies said.

The 2-year-old was given to Lindsey’s parents.

McGough was arrested on counts of possession with intent to distribute Schedule II narcotics, deputies said.
