LIVINGSTON — Livingston Parish sheriff’s deputies said Thursday one of two suspects wanted in a string of thefts in the Maurepas and French Settlement areas had been captured.

Deputies with the Livingston and East Baton Rouge sheriff’s offices arrested Danny Wade Melton, 38, in East Baton Rouge Parish, said Perry Rushing, Livingston Parish sheriff’s chief of operations.

The other suspect, Rebecca Arcediano, 27, was believed to be driving a dark-blue 2003 Ford F-150 extended cab pickup with a broken side glass and extensive damage to the driver’s-side body, Rushing said.

The pair had been living in the truck and were known to frequent illegal narcotics trafficking areas, deputies said. Active warrants for the pair ranged from felony theft to criminal damage to property, deputies said.

The truck may have a Mississippi license plate, deputies said.

Arcediano was described as a white woman who is 5 feet tall, weighs 95 pounds, and has brown hair and hazel eyes with tattoos on her back, right leg and left foot. She has lost about 40 pounds since a sheriff’s photo was taken.

Anyone with information about Arcediano is asked to call the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, (225) 686-2241 or Crimestoppers at (225) 344-7867.
