Lafourche man dies in one-vehicle crash

GHEENS — A Lafourche Parish man died Thursday after being ejected from the vehicle he was driving, Louisiana State Police said.
About 8:30 a.m., Ryan Rybiski, 24, of Raceland, was headed west on La. 654 in a 2004 Ford F-150 when it left the roadway near the community of Gheens, according to a news release State Police issued.
The vehicle struck a ditch, overturned, and came to rest upside down. Rybiski, thrown out of the cab, was pronounced dead on the scene, troopers said.
Drug and alcohol use are unknown, but test results are pending, State Police reported.
Although the driver’s seat belt was buckled, Rybiski was sitting on top of the seat belt, leaving nothing to restrain him in the crash, troopers said.
