LIVINGSTON — A Holden man arrested twice in less than two years on charges of operating a methamphetamine lab was sentenced Monday to 10 years in prison, prosecutors said in a news release.

William Keith Bankston, 52, entered guilty pleas Monday to the charges before Judge Ray Chutz of the 21st Judicial District Court, who then handed down the sentence, prosecutors said.

The 21st JDC encompasses Livingston, Tangipahoa and St. Helena parishes.

Bankston, who was slated to go to trial this week, was arrested Jan. 11 in a Tri-Parish Narcotics Task Force bust of a “one pot shake and bake meth lab” at his residence, 24959 La. 42, Holden, authorities have said.

Bankston had been arrested previously on a meth lab charge in September 2007, Assistant District Attorney Greg Murphy said in the news release.

Chutz gave Bankston 10-year sentences on each count but the sentences are to be served concurrently, prosecutors said.
