Christmas tree project needs help
Volunteers are needed for a Christmas tree project in Golden Meadow from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
Organized by the America’s WETLAND Conservation Corps, LSU AgCenter, Barataria Terrebonne National Estuary Program and Le Reflections de Bayou, volunteers will help place recycled Christmas trees into bins to help reduce wave-induced erosion near a Lafourche Parish levee.
One group will load trees into trailers near the boat launch and another group will place the trees in the prepared bins on the levee.
For information and to let organizers know who will be attending, contact Jacob Bourgeois by e-mail at: jdboug@yahoo.com, or by calling (985) 227-1669.
