CONVENT — A St. James Parish jury convicted David Dee, 35, 325 Ash St., Hahnville, of armed robbery.

The 12-member jury deliberated less than 15 minutes Thursday before finding Dee guilty, 23rd Judicial District prosecutors reported.

Dee entered the Regions Bank in Vacherie with a gun June 5, 2007, and demanded money from a teller, prosecutors said.

After obtaining cash, Dee fled on foot but was later arrested by St. James sheriff’s deputies.

Dee’s sentencing is set for June 2.

The 23rd Judicial District is comprised of St. James, Ascension and Assumption parishes.
