E. Feliciana deputies probe fatal shooting

CLINTON — East Feliciana Parish sheriff’s deputies are investigating a Thursday afternoon shooting that left one man dead, a spokesman for Sheriff Talmadge Bunch said.
Detective Don McKey said the shooting occurred about 5 p.m. at a residence on Shaffett Lane, off La. 957 northeast of Slaughter.
The victim, whose name was withheld pending notification of relatives, died at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.
A preliminary investigation indicated the shooting victim was involved in an altercation with his former girlfriend at the residence and a relative of the woman is believed to have shot the man, McKey said.
No arrests had been made in the case by late Thursday, McKey added.
