Relay for Life schedules captains meeting
BRUSLY — The West Baton Rouge Parish Relay For Life team has a team captains meeting at 6 p.m. today at the Brusly Lions Club followed by a committee meeting at 7 p.m.
Relay organizers are looking to add more teams for the May 1 relay at Brusly High School.
The relay raises money for the American Cancer Society. This year’s event is themed, “It’s All About the 80s.” Organizers said the relay is a chance to honor cancer survivors and their caregivers.
At the event, there will be food, music, competitions and a luminary ceremony where candles will shine in honor of those who battle cancer.
To order a candle for someone fighting cancer or for more information about the relay, contact Katie Baron at (225) 767-4557 or visit http://www.relayforlife.org/westbatonrouge.
