Deputies jail three men in robbery
HAMMOND — Deputies arrested three men in connection with a home-invasion robbery in Roseland earlier this month, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office reported Tuesday.
Around 7 p.m. Jan. 2, two unidentified males knocked on the door of a home, pretending to need assistance. When the homeowner opened the door, the two armed men forced their way inside and demanded money, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office.
The robbers went through the residence, taking guns, jewelry and cash, deputies reported.
During a subsequent undercover operation led by the Lou-isiana State Police in Livingston Parish, agents arranged to purchase firearms from two men.
The weapons purchased matched the description of the guns reported stolen Jan. 2, authorities reported.
Investigators later arrested and booked Hammond residents Antonio Hines, 21, 119 Lawrence Lane, and Quadrick Q. Holmes, 18, 500 E. Charles St., with possession of stolen property.
Hines and Holmes are in the Livingston Parish jail but will be transported to Tangipahoa Par-ish to face armed robbery counts, according to the news release.
Authorities said they also arrested Bruce Darnell Hines, 43, 12386 Faith St., Roseland, and booked him with conspiracy to commit armed robbery. He was in custody Tuesday in the Tangipahoa Parish jail, deputies reported.
This investigation is ongoing and additional charges and arrests are believed to be forthcoming, said Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Dawn Panepinto.
