Police hunting trio in theft of cigarettes
Police are trying to identify three men who robbed a clerk on Dec. 23 at the Exxon Mobil On the Run convenience store, 10391 Airline Highway.
The robbers entered the store at 2:10 a.m., walked behind the front counter and took two large boxes containing several cartons of cigarettes, said Sgt. Don Kelly, a police spokesman.
The men, who did not appear to be armed, left the store in a two-tone pickup, Kelly said.

Deputies arrest man in Dec. 24 rape case
Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 21-year-old man Tuesday in the Christmas Eve rape at an O’Neal Lane apartment.
Kentdell E. Landry kicked in a door of the apartment in the Camden Lakes complex, 2525 O’Neal Lane, at 6 a.m. Christmas Eve, an arrest affidavit said.
Armed with a silver handgun, Landry used zip-ties and jumper cables to tie up a man inside the apartment before raping a woman there, the affidavit said.
Landry and the woman were acquaintances, said Casey Rayborn Hicks, a Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman.
Before fleeing, Landry stole a television, video game system and two cell phones from the apartment, the affidavit said.
Landry confessed to deputies he raped the woman, the affidavit said.
Landry, 16031 Nehru Ave., Apt. A, was booked into Parish Prison on one count each of aggravated rape, armed robbery and aggravated burglary, booking documents show.
Bond was set at $300,000.
Police book man, 27, in indecent behavior
Deputies arrested a 27-year-old man who allegedly inappropriately touched a 9-year-old girl when she was spending the night at his home.
