Sheriff’s detectives want to talk to a man they think has information about a Christmas Eve armed robbery, aggravated burglary and rape, according to an East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office news release issued this morning.

According to reports, about 6:30 a.m. on Dec 24, a black man kicked in the front door of a home on the 2000 block of O’Neal Lane. He was wearing a black bandana over his face and a black shirt. The residence was occupied by a man and a woman. The intruder forced the man to the floor and raped the woman.

The intruder then stole a television and electronics, the Sheriff’s Office says.

Detectives think 20-year-old Edward Lucas Purpera has information about the incident.

Anyone with information about where to find Purpera or about or the attack is asked to call the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office at (225) 389-5000.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for anyone with information leading to the arrest of those responsible.  Contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at (225) 344 - STOP or (225) 344 -7867.
