‘Mansion’ to get off the ground
Parish President Mike Grimmer, other elected officials and community leaders plan to attend a groundbreaking Tuesday for the 2009 Children’s Miracle Mansion at Greystone Golf and Country Club, 9214 Greystone Drive, Denham Springs.
The eighth one built by the Capital Region Builders Foundation, the home benefits Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital through chances sold to own the home.
Developers Ron and Susan Menville and Greystone Golf and Country Club donated the lot. Builder Tricia Guitreau will donate her time to oversee home construction, which starts this year. Donations of labor and material come from the community.
Refreshments start at noon; groundbreaking at 1 p.m. It was canceled last month because of snow.
