Former LSU player booked as fugitive
Former LSU quarterback Rohan Davey was arrested Tuesday and booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a fugitive from justice count.
Deputies with the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office Warrant Division picked up Davey about noon, said Casey Rayborn Hicks, a Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman.
Davey, 30, 24696 Plank Road, Slaughter, was wanted by authorities in Maricopa County, Ariz., she said.
Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Detective Aaron D. Douglas said Davey is wanted on a probation violation that stems from a theft charge. Details regarding the charge were not available, he said.
Davey was released from Parish Prison on Wednesday on his own recognizance, booking records show.
The former quarterback played for LSU from 1998 to 2001, when he led the team to its first SEC championship since 1986.
Davey went on to play for the New England Patriots and Arizona Cardinals, as well as two Arena Football League teams, the New York Dragons and the Cleveland Gladiators.
