Jindal keeps joke by Obama mystery

Gov. Bobby Jindal acknowledged the talk that he is the “Republican Obama” after returning from a meeting with the president-elect in Philadelphia.

Jindal said Barack Obama made a joke about the characterization during their brief one-on-one time.

Exactly what was said is a mystery.

Jindal refused to divulge the president-elect’s precise words.

Ants march in State Capitol

There are bugs at the State Capitol, but they are not the wiretapping kind.

State Reps. Walt Leger III and Karen Peterson, both D-New Orleans, recently interrupted a House committee meeting to point out the number of ants marching across their desk.

Ants also crawled across the carpet and the wall of the House committee room.

Cassidy settles into D.C. office

Congressman-elect Bill Cassidy is settling in to his new office in Washington, D.C., in true Louisiana fashion.

Cassidy, R-Baton Rouge, won election to the 6th Congressional District in November.

Though the office is a little farther out than most, it has a beautiful view of the Capitol and a unique terrace, he said.
A few offices down, U.S. Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, has a grill out on his terrace area, Cassidy said.
