Ex-CEO of Citizens Property Insurance indicted

The former head of the state-run Louisiana Citizens Property Insurance Corp., the state’s insurer of last resort, was indicted today on theft charges.
An East Baton Rouge Parish grand jury charged 53-year-old Terry Lisotta of Metairie with 14 counts of theft.
The state Attorney General’s Office brought the case to the grand jury.
The state legislative auditor has criticized Lisotta, the former chief executive officer of Citizens, for running up more than $285,000 in expenses between 2003 and 2006 and charging the expenses to Citizens or two other state-related insurance entities.
The indictment says the alleged thefts occurred between February 2004 and November 2006.
