Police ID victim of O’Neal accident
The man who died Sunday in a car crash on O’Neal Lane north of Interstate 12 was Robert Trotter Jr., 45, of Baton Rouge, State Police said.
The accident happened about 2:15 a.m. when Trotter lost control of his 2002 Nissan Quest as he entered a left-hand curve, said Russell Graham, a State Police spokesman.
The vehicle went off the road and hit a tree, Graham said. Trotter, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene, Graham said.
Alcohol is suspected as a factor in the crash and blood was taken from the victim for analysis, Graham said.

Authorities arrested at least one person suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked him into Parish Prison between 3 p.m. Sunday and 3 p.m. Monday, booking records show.
