Child support collected in roundup

GONZALES — Chief Deputy Tony Bacala of the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office said he expects more “deadbeat dads” to make child support payments after this week’s roundup that netted 19 arrests.
“Typically, after a roundup of this type, others will turn themselves in and take care of what they should have been taking care of all along,” Bacala said.
“I anticipate another roundup of this kind in the near future,” he added.
The Sheriff’s Office sent teams of deputies to the east bank and the west bank of the parish at the request of the state Department of Social Services, Bacala said.
In addition to the arrests, $5,763 in fees and partial child-support payments were collected, Bacala said.
Those arrested and booked with nonsupport counts were identified as:
Barry Michael, 40, 43486 La. 931, Prairieville; Daniel Melancon, 49, 9205 No. 3 Darla, Gonzales; Keron Landry, 22, 1934 W. Worthy Road, Gonzales; Andre Lomas, 36. 1612 Coontrap Road, Gonzales; and Robert Seward, 51, 12219 JC Road, St. Amant.
Also, Adam Andermann, 26, 16393 Stewart Road, Prairieville; Eric Ganaway, 32, 37083 Sue St., Geismar; Darrell Hardy, 46, 632 W. Toby, Gonzales; Casey Braud, 13105 George Rouyea, Gonzales; Thomas Newton, 66, 37503 Province Point, Prairieville; and Renaldo Green, 26, 1219 Syble, Gonzales.
Also, Nathaniel Christoff, 54, 35501 Braud Road, Prairieville; John Grisaffe, 44, 105 Anna St., Donaldsonville; Terrill Nicholas, 31, 1303 St. Vincent St., Donaldsonville; Anthony Jackson, 35, 614 Houmas St., Donaldsonville; and Bryant Bennett, 24, 8201 Main St., Sorrento.
Also, Harold Thomas, 55, 3039 Mount Olive, Donaldsonville; Rose Johnson, 48, 903 Magnolia St., Donaldsonville; and John Smith II, 32, 212 Madewood Drive, Donaldsonville.
