LIVINGSTON — A Gonzales man was killed Thursday morning in a single-vehicle crash on La. 42 in Livingston Parish, Louisiana State Police said.

John P. Templet, 21, was eastbound on La. 42, east of La. 63, in a 2000 Toyota Four-Runner shortly before 5 a.m. Thursday, troopers said in a statement Thursday.

The Four-Runner went off a curve to the right and began to spin and overturn, troopers said.

Templet, who was not wearing his seat belt, was thrown from the sport utility vehicle, troopers said.

Templet was pronounced dead at the scene.

Alcohol is not suspected as a factor in the crash but a blood sample was taken for chemical analysis, troopers said.
