Mandeville man dies in one-car crash
Coty Wade Roy, 27, of Mandeville, died Sunday of injuries he suffered in a one-car crash Saturday at Interstate 12 and O’Neal Lane, Baton Rouge police said.
Roy’s 5-year-old daughter, Kaylen Janae Roy, also was killed in the crash, said Sgt. Don Kelly. She died Saturday at Oschner Medical Center.
The crash occurred just after 10:30 p.m. Saturday when the 2001 Taurus Cody Wade Roy was driving ran off the road and overturned, police have said.
Both Cody Wade Roy, 235 Rosewood St., Mandeville, and his daughter were ejected from the vehicle, Cpl. L’Jean McKneely has said.
McKneely has said it appeared the driver was swerving, and may have fallen asleep.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
