Maurepas man’s body found floating in water

MAUREPAS — Livingston Parish sheriff’s deputies think a 33-year-old man fell out of his boat and drowned between Friday afternoon and the time his body was found Sunday, deputies said.
The body of Shane J. Ellis, 22429 Albert James Road, Maurepas, was found floating near a boat slip at 13031 Perch St., Maurepas, around 7 a.m. Sunday, deputies said in a statement Monday.
Ellis was last seen in small boat around 3 p.m. Friday, deputies said.
No foul play is suspected, deputies said.
