Police arrest suspect in sexual assault case
Baton Rouge police on Sunday arrested a 34-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl while she was sleeping, an arrest warrant says.
Quenton Dewayne Rogers, 22447 Plank Road, is accused of entering the girl’s room in the 900 block of Rosenwald Road between July 2005 and October 2005, an arrest warrant says. The girl told detectives she was able to flee to a bathroom until Rogers left.
Rogers has a previous arrest and conviction for molestation of a juvenile in 2005 and is currently on probation for the offense, the warrant says. The warrant for his arrest on the aggravated rape count was filed in August.
Rogers was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a count aggravated rape, booking records show. Bail was set at $150,000.
At least 7 booked on DWI counts
Authorities arrested at least seven people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 3 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday, booking records show.

- Shandra Allen Carter, 44, 3023 Toulon St., Apt. B, first-offense DWI and reckless operation of a vehicle.
- Derwin Jareth Hill, 29, 1234 Alabo St., New Orleans, first-offense DWI, disobeying a red light, reckless operation of a vehicle and resisting an officer.
- Celeste Lynn Savoie, 30, 1500 Everett Lane, first-offense DWI, insurance required, hit and run, reckless operation of a vehicle and failure to maintain control of a vehicle.
- Kyle D. Guillory, 19, 345 Jennifer Jean Drive, first-offense underage DWI and failure to maintain control of a vehicle.
- Mark Glidwell Newman, 49, 2 Hidden Oak Lane, first-offense DWI and speeding.
