Jarod M. Jackson, 26, 1957 Allene St., Brusly, allegedly took $60,000 worth of hatchlings and eggs from Walls Alligator Farm the day after Hurricane Gustav hit Louisiana, deputies said in a statement.

Jackson then allegedly told another alligator farm in Gibson as he attempted to sell the baby gators that he had collected the eggs and hatchlings in the swamp, deputies said.

Jackson was booked into the Livingston Parish Jail on Sept. 23 on counts of simple burglary and theft, deputies said.
