Two die in accidents in Livingston Parish
LIVINGSTON — Two people died Sunday in separate car crashes in Livingston Parish, Louisiana State Police said.
The first crash occurred at 7:16 p.m. on La. 22, east of La. 16, when a 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle traveling east failed to negotiate a left turn, a State Police news release said.
The motorcycle struck a telephone box and light pole, ejecting driver, Martin Talley, 33, of Franklinton, the release said.
Talley was taken to North Oaks Hospital in Hammond where he was pronounced dead, the release said.
The second crash occurred at 11:34 p.m. on La. 64, west of La. 16, the release said.
Jimmy Beech, 46, of Denham Springs, was hit by a 2002 Toyota Camry traveling west on La. 64 when he tried to cross the highway, the release says.
Beech was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Camry was not arrested, the release says.
