Nicholls State still without power
THIBODAUX — Nicholls State University has sustained roof damage to several buildings on campus, including Ellender Memorial Library, Polk Hall and North and South Babington halls, according to a news release.
The university is ready to resume normal operations, but cannot do so due to the loss of electrical power. Entergy Corp. has provided no definitive information regarding when power would be restored, the release states.
Once the university is notified when power will be restored, faculty, staff and students will be contacted as to when the campus will reopen and classes will resume, officials reported Thursday.
In the meantime, faculty members will begin updating and developing coursework online, on-campus residents will be notified as soon as possible as to when residence halls will reopen and food service will resume, school officials stated.
