Independence man held on three burglary counts
INDEPENDENCE — Tangipahoa Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested on burglary counts Wednesday an Independence man who was out on bond for robbery and other counts from early June, deputies said.
Shane Crawford, 18, 140 Garon Lane, Independence, was arrested Wednesday and booked into Tangipahoa Parish Prison in Amite on warrants for two counts of simple burglary and one count of aggravated burglary, deputies said in a statement.
A witness reported to deputies that Crawford was seen kicking in the door of an Independence house on La. 1065 three weeks ago, Dawn Panepinto, sheriff’s spokeswoman, reported Wednesday.
Crawford was later seen with several items reported stolen from the house, Panepinto said.
Deputies got a tip that Crawford was at his house Wednesday when he was arrested, Panepinto said.
On June 5, Crawford was arrested on counts of simple robbery, unauthorized use of an access card, unauthorized entry of a place of business and one count of felony theft.
Crawford’s bond on his most recent offenses has been set at $150,000, deputies said.
Previous bond information was not immediately available.
