DEQ: 3 landfills to speed N.O. cleanup

On April 11, the ‘white goods’ area at the Gentilly landfill, where refrigerators were waiting to be compacted, was showing signs of dwindling. Officials are still overseeing the removal of hurricane debris and flooded vehicles from the greater New Orleans area.
