Port Allen man booked in sex case involving 14-year-old girl
PORT ALLEN — Deputies arrested a Port Allen man on felony counts of having sex with a juvenile girl on multiple occasions.
The West Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office reported John A. Hebert, 29, was booked with carnal knowledge of a 14-year-old girl at least 10 times dating back to May 26, 2007. The sex was consensual, deputies said.
Deputies arrested Hebert on July 18 and booked him into West Baton Rouge Parish Jail, where his bond was sent at $150,000.
According to court documents, Hebert would entice the girl, 13 years old in May 2007, to sneak out of her parents’ house to meet him. Hebert would pick up the girl in his blue Dodge truck and take her to his home at 4313 Maxine St.
There, Hebert and the girl would have sex in his bedroom and bathroom, according to the documents.
The girl was not able to give sheriff’s investigators an exact count of how many times the two had sex, but said they had sex “many more than 10 times,” and sometimes twice in one week, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
Investigators said the girl told them that she did not inform authorities about Hebert’s alleged criminal activity because Hebert mentally abused her.
According to an affidavit, Hebert called the girl 20 times one evening until the girl’s father answered the phone and told Hebert to stop calling.
During that call, Hebert threatened to change his phone number so the girl’s father would not know that it was Hebert calling, according to the affidavit.
