Duson man indicted in fatal traffic wreck
LAFAYETTE — A 20-year-old Duson man was indicted Wednesday for vehicular homicide in an August crash that killed his passenger.
According to the indictment, Sean Holloway allegedly killed Shawn Lancon, 22, while driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
Media reports at the time reported that Holloway failed to yield to an oncoming vehicle on Fieldspan Road while attempting to turn onto Althea Drive.
Lancon was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Holloway sustained minor injuries in the crash.
The driver of the other vehicle received moderate injuries.
Holloway was arrested on charges of negligent homicide, underage DWI first offense, failure to yield while turning left, open alcoholic container, no signal lights, no headlights and failure to wear a seat belt.
No one in Holloway’s vehicle had seat belts on at the time of the crash.
