Boats that were part of an Amite River Basin Commission tour of the river and Diversion Canal pull into a boat lane Monday on the eastern end of a weir designed to keep 70 percent of the river’s flow going down the historic channel rather than the diversion canal, which is designed to take on more water during floods.
