Nicholls adds two to administration
THIBODAUX — Nicholls State University announced two additions to its administration.
Thibodaux native and Nicholls graduate Jessica Harvey will serve as assistant director of alumni affairs, a new position for the school.
Another Thibodaux native, Brian Clausen, is the new director of environmental health and safety.
Both appointments were announced last week.
“I look forward to maintaining and strengthening the university’s relationship with other alumni,” Harvey said. “And to keep fellow Colonels interested and active in university activities and projects.”
Harvey’s duties include updating and revising the university’s alumni database; researching, writing and editing for The Colonel, the semiannual alumni magazine; and providing support to the Office of Alumni Affairs.
A 2006 graduate of the Nicholls honors program with a bachelor of arts in English, Harvey is working toward a master of arts in English from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches.
As the new director of environmental health and safety at Nicholls, Clausen will supervise a comprehensive safety program for the entire university.
He is a 1999 Nicholls graduate in general studies. Clausen has more than 20 years experience, including stints as manager of safety and security for McDermott Inc; senior safety analyst and manager of performance development for DynMcDermott Petroleum Operations; and manager for Union National Insurance Co.
“My goal is to continue to implement a program that heightens the visibility and confidence in the department. I look forward to working with the administration, faculty and staff,” Clausen said.
