Starbucks closing 9 BR stores
Seattle-based coffee giant Starbucks will close seven more stores here, bringing the total announced to nine and marking an exit for almost all the chain’s stores in the Baton Rouge market.
Starbucks announced earlier this month that it would close 600 underperforming stores nationwide and released the names of 50 locations on Monday, naming two in Baton Rouge: one at Interstate 10 and Siegen Lane and the one at Coursey Boulevard and Market Street.
Thursday evening, however, the company named all 600 locations, dropping the ax on seven more here. Considering its size, Baton Rouge was one of the more notable victims of Starbucks’ cost-cutting measure.
The additional seven locations Starbucks will close are:
--5720 Corporate Blvd. (Corporate Boulevard and Energy Drive)
--8729 Siegen Lane (Siegen and Perkins)
--19970 Highland Road (Airline and Highland)
--7777 Bluebonnet Blvd. (Perkins Rowe at Perkins and Bluebonnet)
--5565 Essen Lane (Essen and Mancuso)
--8183 Airline Highway (Airline and Harry Drive)
--9837 Bluebonnet Blvd. (Bluebonnet and Burbank)
Starbucks also closed one Lafayette location, at 115 Verot School Road (at Verot and Pinhook), and one each in Monroe, Shreveport and Kenner, bringing the total number of Louisiana closures to 13.
