State District Judge Richard Anderson today set bond at $350,000 for the son of state Rep. Regina A. Barrow, D-Baton Rouge, on a count of principal to second-degree murder.

James G. Barrow Jr. and Michael Smith are accused in the killing of Brent Cole, a DeQuincy church musician, who was shot to death in his car in March.

Cole apparently was lost while looking for his Baton Rouge hotel when he was shot.

Smith was released July 7 on a $250,000 bond set by Judge Todd Hernandez and Commissioner John Smart.

Anderson set Barrow’s bond after hearing testimony from his parents.
