Rare coin minted in La. bought by native

Chuck Bloomfield is a coin dealer who purchased a rare $10 gold coin minted in 1844 in New Orleans. Bloomfield bought the coin, shown in the photograph in center, for $1.5 million. The coin is on display in Orlando, Fla. Shown with Bloomfield are two auction books, from 1890 and 1911, listing the coin, as well as other coins that are part of the collection.
