Police seek suspect in June 27 slaying
An arrest warrant was issued Wednesday for a Baton Rouge man accused of dumping a body on Madison Avenue after fatally shooting the victim.

Christopher Taylor, 21, is wanted on counts of second-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon in the fatal shooting of Labaron Anthony Napoleon, 27, of the St. James community, said police spokesman Sgt. Don Kelly.

Napoleon was found shot to death June 27 in the 1500 block of Madison Avenue.

Witnesses told police that Taylor approached one of them after the shooting because he needed help burning the car where the slaying took place, the arrest warrant says. A second witness told police he was in the vehicle with Taylor and Napoleon at the time of the shooting.

Taylor is described as a black male, 5 feet 9 inches and 150 pounds, Kelly said. Taylor’s last known address is 4307 Breckenridge Ave.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call police at (225) 389-4869 or Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-7867.

Beating suspect faces counts; man sought
A 23-year-old Baton Rouge man accused of joining several other men in beating and shooting a man outside a Plank Road store was arrested Tuesday.

Michael D. Jackson is accused of cornering the victim with Reginald R. Jackson, 27, relationship unknown, and other unidentified men at EZ Pack and Serve, 3800 Plank Road, after an argument, arrest warrants say.

Michael D. Jackson and other men punched the victim until Reginald Jackson shot him in the hip, the warrants say.

The victim told police he knew his attackers but did not know why they harmed him, the warrants say.

Michael D. Jackson was arrested at his Winnebago Street home, where police allegedly found him in possession of a handgun and marijuana.

Jackson, 3133 Winnebago St., was booked into Parish Prison on counts of principal to attempted second-degree murder, principal to aggravated criminal damage to property, possession of a firearm with drugs and possession of marijuana, booking records show.

Reginald Jackson, also of 3133 Winnebago St., is still wanted on counts of attempted second-degree murder and aggravated criminal damage to property, booking records show.
