ULL student picked for policy fellowship
LAFAYETTE — Elizabeth “E.B.” Brooks, a recent graduate of University of Louisiana at Lafayette who helped organize efforts to preserve the ULL “Horse Farm,” is one of 20 students nationwide selected for the City Hall Fellows public policy program.
Brooks will spend her year-long fellowship working for the City of Houston to obtain hands-on experience in public policy.
Brooks co-founded and still leads the “Save the Horse Farm” campaign, which aims to preserve a large tract of university land that has been considered for development.
Brooks also helped start EarthShare Gardens, an organic gardening group that grows produce for local families on a subscription basis and donates food to area soup kitchens.
