Council reaccredits LTC’s BR campuses
Louisiana Technical College’s Baton Rouge-area campuses had their national accreditation reaffirmed.
LTC Region 2 consists of campuses at Baton Rouge, New Roads, Jackson, Port Allen and Plaquemine. The region also has technical programs at local correctional facilities.
The Council on Occupational Education accrediting body’s visiting team on Friday sent word that LTC had met the necessary requirements.
Kay McDaniel, LTC Region 2 director in Baton Rouge, said the report is a testament to the students and the quality of the work force training programs.
The campuses offer hands-on courses leading to two-year associate degrees, diplomas, certifications and licensures in programs ranging from accounting to welding to practical nursing. The COE accreditation reaffirmation is a requirement for offering student federal financial assistance and transferring credits to other institutions.
