Sheriff seeks aid finding fugitive
GONZALES — Ascension Parish Sheriff Jeff Wiley asks the public’s help in locating a fugitive implicated in a bank fraud investigation.
Winston Westley, 32, remains at large after purchasing nearly $3,000 worth of lumber with two fraudulent checks in April from 84 Lumber in Gonzales, the sheriff said in a news release issued Friday.
Westley is known to frequent the Baton Rouge and Ascension Parish areas, but authorities have no known address for Westley.
He is described as being 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 165 pounds.
Westley is accused of two counts of bank fraud and two counts of felony theft, Wiley said.
Anyone with information on Westley’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office at (225) 621-4636 or Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-7867.
