State fines, suspends bond agent
Kenneth Ray Lee, a Baton Rouge bail bond agent, has been issued a cease and desist order, and was suspended and fined, a Department of Insurance news release says.
Lee, 43, allegedly submitted a fraudulent license renewal application to the Insurance Department in September, the release says.
The application was fraudulent because it didn’t disclose that Lee had been arrested on a count of felony theft, which was later dismissed, the release says.
Lee also allegedly failed to repay a $6,250 bail bond he wrote in June 2004 that was forfeited by Baton Rouge City Court in 2005, the release says.
He has 30 days to pay the fine and bond forfeiture, the release says.
At that time, his license would be suspended for 60 days.
