Gov. Bobby Jindal and first lady Supriya Jindal have accepted an invitation to spend the Memorial Day weekend at Sen. John McCain’s Arizona ranch with the senator and Cindy McCain, according to a statement issued by the governor’s press secretary Melissa Sellers.

Sellers said Jindal has met with McCain a number of times to discuss the Gulf Coast recovery efforts from the 2005 hurricanes.

“The governor looks forward to joining Sen. McCain and his other guests this weekend, and he values this as another opportunity to meet with a national leader and the potential next president of the United States to discuss issues important to the future growth of Louisiana, " Sellers said in her statement.
