Meth lab stakeout leads to two arrests
ALBANY — Investigators kept a suspected methamphetamine lab in rural Livingston Parish under surveillance a week before raiding the place and arresting two people, the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office reported.
Authorities were able to observe the two in possession of various materials used to manufacture the illegal drug, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release issued Tuesday.
As agents were arresting the pair, one man dropped the chemicals he was handling and fled on foot. Deputies said they captured Jake Kirkland, 33, of Albany after a foot chase.
They said they booked Kirkland with creation and operation of a methamphetamine lab and resisting arrest. His bond was set at $500,500.
Deputies said they also arrested Joan Parker, 38, of Albany, on counts of creation and operation of a methamphetamine lab. Her bond was set at $500,000.
