Two shot, wounded on Lehmann Street
Two men were shot and wounded in the 1600 block of Lehmann Street Thursday evening, police spokesman Capt. Lazarus Turner said in a news release.
Officers responding to the call discovered that both men had left the scene, traveling in a private car to a hospital, the release says.
Witnesses said the victims were shot by a man who stepped out of a car that stopped after passing the men, Turner said. The wounds to both victims were not considered life threatening.

At least 12 arrested on suspicion of DWI
Authorities arrested at least 12 people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 3 p.m. Thursday and 3 p.m. Friday, booking records show.
Those booked and the counts against them:

- Delpherine Lamont Lee, 32, 14345 Elmbridge Ave., first-offense DWI, failure to yield from a private drive, improper lane usage and reckless operation.
- Gregory James Terrebone Jr., 20, 1741 Brightside Lane, Apt. FA, first-offense DWI, reckless operation, failure to stop or yield, and failure to signal.
- Mark A. Lazard, 26, 11111 N. Harrell’s Ferry Road, Apt. 211, first-offense DWI and obstruction of a public highway.
- Jeffrey Scott Gremillion, 27, 8508 Summa Ave., Apt. 14, first-offense DWI, improper lane usage and disobeying a red light.
- Jesse Alcide Ledet, 27, 15522 Summerwood Ave., first-offense DWI, driving over median and reckless operation.
- Jeffrey L. Pettit, 52, 11329 Family Road, Gonzales, first-offense DWI, disobeying a red light and reckless operation.
