19 arrested in Iberville drug probe

PLAQUEMINE — The Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office and Plaquemine Police Department arrested 19 people Wednesday in a crackdown on drug dealing.
The Law Enforcement Against Drugs joint task force conducted “Operation Last Call,” executing warrants based on undercover work during the past several months, said Capt. Aubrey St. Angelo of the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division.
While the sweep concentrated on alleged “street-level” cocaine dealers in Plaquemine and White Castle, Sheriff Brent Allain and Police Chief Orian Gulotta said Wednesday’s arrests represent only about 30 percent of the people believed implicated in Iberville’s illegal drug trade.
Allain and Gulotta said more arrests would follow as space becomes available in the Iberville Parish Prison, with arrests made on a priority basis.
They also said they hope the arrests would dampen drug-trade activity in Iberville.
Those arrested Wednesday and the crimes with which they were booked are:

- Alfred Watts, 25, Plaquemine, distribution of cocaine and attempted distribution of a counterfeit substance.
- Ernest Warner, 33, Plaquemine, distribution of cocaine.
- Ronald McClay, 53, Plaquemine distribution of cocaine, distribution of Schedule 2 drugs.
- Rob Pierce Bosely, 24, Plaquemine, distribution of cocaine.
- Vincent Edwards, 42, White Castle, distribution of cocaine, distribution of marijuana.
- Donnie Green, 25, White Castle, two counts distribution of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana.
- Derrick Myles, 30, Plaquemine, distribution of cocaine.
- Charles Smith, 36, Plaquemine, distribution of cocaine.
- Karlos Hines, 33, Plaquemine, three counts of distribution of cocaine.
- Jeremy Banks, 24, Plaquemine, distribution of cocaine, distribution of marijuana.
- Kendrick Williams, 20, Plaquemine, distribution of cocaine.
- Corey McCoy, 27, Plaquemine, distribution of cocaine.
- Ronnie Alexander, 48, Plaquemine, distribution of cocaine.
- Joseph Snearl, 20, Plaquemine, distribution of cocaine.
