Tornado reported in Tangipahoa Parish

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office received a report just before 9 a.m. Thursday of a tornado that had touched down just west of Ponchatoula, according to a news release issued by Chief Dennis Pevey of the Sheriff’s Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Upon responding, deputies found damage to homes, trees and vehicles on Pumpkin Center Road, Adams Road and Hooks Lane, the news release said.
No injuries reported, Pevey said, but people were advised to avoid the area because crews were working to clear roads and assess damage.
