The Central Community School Board has called a special meeting for noon Friday to declare an emergency due to storm damage at school facilities and to authorize repairs.

A section of the roof at Central High School was damaged by the storm, Superintendent Michael Faulk said Wednesday night.

The meeting will be held at the Central Chamber of Commerce building, 13567 Hooper Road.

The Central area was heavily hit by the Wednesday night storm. Damage was widespread along the Hooper Road area, Central Fire Department Capt. Derek Glover said Wednesday night.

I wonder if they are going to want the rest of the parish to pay for it?

No, the parish can keep the money they stole from Central taxpayers. We are happy to pay for this ourselves. I mean, why complain when we have one of the best schools around and parish schools are trying to figure out ways to avoid state takeover. So enjoy what the parish does for you and keep the snide remarks to yourself.
