Grosse Tete man killed in storm

An elderly man was killed this morning near Grosse Tete when strong winds caused a tree to fall on a trailer/camper the man was in, Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office Johnny Blanchard said.
The camper was parked in a lot at 76820 Gum St. off of La. 77 south of Interstate 10, Blanchard said.
Blanchard said the victim, in his 80s, was sleeping in the camper when the tree fell.
Blanchard said it was too early to release the name of the victim.
