It seems we are so engrossed in football that we fail to see the tradgedy of a young man's life. He has problems and I know that Les Miles is a Christian first and a coach 2nd, so I imagine he exhausted all options before he had to make that final decision. Maybe our prayers should be with all the young people and LSU and especially for Ryan. He didn't begin life like this and I pray he will seek more than man's help in returning to a better place in his life. He has more to gain than football. May God Bless him.

Good Riddance! I almost feel sorry for Alabama, but then again, they agreed to sign him. I don’t think that is going to help Ryan learn any life lessons. I hate to put a cloud over him, but I bet he messes up in Alabama too, and they regret signing him.

You people in Baton Rouge get on my last nerves with LSU. As long as you all could use Ryan and others like him everything is ok, but the minute you can't use us anymore you people are threw with us. I'm not stating Ryan is not at fault for getting kicked of the team, but you Big Raggedy people get on my nerves.

I do make mistakes. Sometimes I do need a 2nd chance, I usually don't need a 3rd. I don't believe in getting or giving 3rd or more chances. This young man has gotten plenty of chances (more than 3) and he keeps blowing them. Maybe chances isn't what he needs, maybe living with the results of his actions would help him more.

I dare say that most readers of this paper never had to endure 2 a day practices from middle school on much less make a team like LSU and perform in front of 80000 (#Mil during playoff and ESPN games)screaming fans. The pressure obviously got to Ryan and the young man buckled both academically and emotionally. It was time for him to face the consequences of his actions and move on.Be sure of this ...he'll be back at another level on Sunday "if" he gets his act together.Good luck Ryan......sorry it didn't work out here......

Jacksonville State Thats Florida right, Lets just see how long before trouble begins again. LSU is way better off without a trouble maker, We need our team Focused on Winning games not worring about a team members Police troubles.

Jacksonville State just got rid of their quarterback for pretty much the same reasons Perrilloux was given the boot. They are trading one problem for another, although I suspect after one year at Jacksonville State he will move back into the SEC and wear crimson.

Nica - That has to be the most ignorant sequence of words ever put together. And what do you mean "you people"?; you talkin about white people, cause if you think this is a racial issue, you are even more ignorant than I thought.

Made a few mistakes? Forgetting to give your kid lunch money is a mistake. Printing out the wrong report is a mistake. Getting regular coffee when your wife wanted decaf is a mistake. Ryan Perrilloux is a thug and exhibits Thug Life behavior.

Everyone(you all) needs to get a grip. How much mentoring vs football practice did this young man(a product of Louisiana culture) receive? Probably as much as some of the people who post dumb comments. Which is also a reflection of the same mentioned culture of Ryan.

well as far as betty's comment goes on you people and us only using players when we need them , then dismissing them is astonishing. First of all she needs to use proper english and grammer and secondly doesnt need to group everyone in baton rouge as one entity,.I will admit that LSU fans are intense but true fans are and as far as ryan goes no one made him do the things he did he would have been gone a long time ago had he not been who he his. He has had several chances to prove that he was a good person but he couldn't do that . How manny chances should one peerson get?

What LSU needs is at thug free team. If they win they win if they lose they lose at least they won't be making the Street Beat on the news. Some of you people would sell your sole for a stupid football game.

I love it when people on message boards decide to be the "grammar" police on typos and misspelled words... BTW Stacy.... if you are going to correct someone... spell your words correctly. As for Ryan... he was a troubled young man who just lost his father, so we need to wish him well. He made enough mistakes where coach Miles had NO CHOICE but to let him go. LSU did not throw him under the bus. He would have been our starter... So don't make it seem like Miles no longer wanted him on the team. Ryan has one person to blame... himself. Wish him the best, hes a young man.

All of you guys have dumb comments! The bottom line is this! RP did not prove to the staff that he still wanted to be a part of the team. He did not commit a felony so it is hard to say he is a bad person. He made some misjudgments that hurt him in the end. But believe me, there are a lot of football players at all programs that do things but it gets covered up. Did we ever hear about Mario Manningham or Talib Aqib failing drug test in college? No! But they admitted to it at Pre-Draft interviews. In fact Manningham said he failed more than one drug test. So how often do athletes at major conference programs fail drug test. I would say often. Some of you are quick to use the word thug. But what is a thug? Based on most of you guys use of the word, then just about every kid in college football is a thug. I hear to tell you that just because a kid hangs with a group of people that have a hip-hop/urban style of dress and fashion does not make a kid a thug. But that is the stereotype that a lot of his kids get. You see we have some thugs in congress, we have some preaching in churches, CEO at banks, etc. I would say that the ENRON guys were thugs. And we all know that everyone involved in the cover up and killing of Pat Tillman were thugs. You see RP is not a thug! Thugs commit crimes and felonies. He has not! So before we so loosely use the word thug we need to look at some of the people around us! Being a thug is based on your criminal actions and not on the way you dress and if you have a crew.

Hey KJH! Do you ever read the paper or what the news? I quote you " Thugs commit crimes and felonies. He has not! So before we so loosely use the word thug we need to look at some of the people around us! Being a thug is based on your criminal actions and not on the way you dress and if you have a crew." I guess you didn't read about his breaking Louisiana State Law by trying to get on the Casino by using someones else's ID and other stuff he's done. I hate to break the news to you but that is a crime.

I know the athletes read these comments. Recently we had a basketball situation where I hope the player's family read the comments too. But we all have to admit that Perrilloux is a unique case. His workouts and effort...when he was in gear... should never be forgotten without a thanks. God Bless him and we should pray he can become a portion of what his potential appeared to be. .. We've all made mistakes.

This is not about grammar, or thugs, or race. Ryan COULD NOT pass drug tests. Yes plural! He failed several. You can't abide by the rules, you can't play.

I think you all are crazy he is still a young man in college trying to make something of himself . Most thug as you call him don't go to college and maintain a grade point average to stay in or go to another and still be able to play any sport. And Mr New fan a crime is a crime but do you feel the same way about David Vitter

Actually, it does matter what kind of drugs were in his body. At least to me it does. Cocaine, crack, meth, heroin, etc... That stuff will kill you. Steroids, HGH, etc.. That stuff gives you a competitive advantage. Weed is just weed
