Wildlife secretary’s son elected to LSU board
The son of Louisiana Secretary of Wildlife and Fisheries Robert Barham is the newest member of the LSU Board of Supervisors.
Third-year medical student Henry Barham, who is the Student Government president at the LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, was elected Monday as the new student representative on the LSU board.
A former LSU football player, Henry Barham, 26 and an Oak Ridge native, graduated from LSU in 2004.
Robert Barham, also an LSU graduate, is a longtime former state senator who was sometimes outspoken on LSU matters.
As the newest student member, Henry Barham will serve a one-year term on the board. He replaces Cassie Alsfeld, who was the Student Government president of the main LSU campus in Baton Rouge.
Henry Barham said he plans to remain in Louisiana for a medical residency in otolaryngology, which is the diagnosis and treatment of ear, nose, throat, and head and neck disorders.
He and his wife, Mary, live in Shreveport.
