Police and fire briefs for March 20, 2008

Authorities arrest four on DWI counts

Authorities arrested at least four people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 3 p.m. Tuesday and 3 p.m. Wednesday, booking records show.

Those booked and the counts against them:

  • Michael Sean Cigar, 43, 14979 S. Bolivar Drive, first-offense DWI, improper window tint, seat belt violation and driver’s license suspended or revoked.
  • Ashley Leeann Brooks, 22, 179 Tramel Road, Dry Creek, second-offense DWI, disobeying a red light, driver’s license not in possession, insurance required and hit and run.
  • David Mitchell Bocz, 20, 45241 Paul Road, St. Amant, first-offense DWI, disobeying a red light and improper turns.
  • Mirian Giraldo, 22, 1625 Gwen Drive, first-offense DWI, license plate required and improper lane usage.

Police arrest suspect in rape of BR woman

Baton Rouge Police arrested a man accused of raping a woman early Monday in the 7800 block of Scenic Highway.

James Charles Dunn Sr., 41, 9989 Avenue G, is accused of lying in the backseat of the woman’s vehicle about 6 a.m., an arrest warrant said.

When the woman returned to her car, Dunn allegedly raped her at gunpoint, the warrant said.

Dunn was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on counts of aggravated rape and second-degree kidnapping, booking records show.
